About Our Services
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we have been forced to reduce operations. We are taking on new clients on a case by case basis for daily dog walking and overnight care. Our cat sitting services are running as normal. We have amended our office hours to Monday to Thursday 9am - 6pm and we are Closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We are still available for emergency needs when our offices are closed. Please leave us a detailed message and the staff member on call will get back to you ASAP.
At Pawlosophy we do not believe in a one size fits all service approach. All of our care is customized to fit your pets needs and your scheduling needs. Our services page is pretty extensive so we have set up some links to quickly take you to specific sections of the care we offer. If you do not see a service type we have covered below, please contact our office and we will be happy to work with you to serve the interest of you and your pets! Please note that all of the care we do is in our clients home. We do not offer boarding, grooming or dog training, but we will be happy to refer you to one of our local partners... just ask us, we are always here to help!

Dog Walking
We are happy to offer a variety of options for your dog's exercise requirements. Our unique approach allows customers the opportunity to have their dog walker create custom options to suit their dog's needs. In order to be able to give your dog our full and undivided attention we never do pack walks.
Our standard 30 minute visit includes a 20-25 minute walk, with a focus on safety and fun! The remaining 5-10 minutes are used to ensure your dog is correctly leashed to your specifications, has time for a water break, treats of your approval and, of course, gets some good lovin'! In order to gain a thorough understanding of your dog's likes and dislikes, and to nurture a bond, your pet will be assigned one main walker. You will receive a detailed account of each visit.
Above all, we understand that every dog is an individual and we're happy to tailor your dog's walk accordingly. If your dog loves a slow, lazy meander, we'll match them with a walker who knows how to kick back, relax and smell the roses. If you have a dog that likes to go, go, go - not a problem, we love a brisk, tiring, energetic workout too! Does your dog prefer to hang out in the back yard and play fetch? We're always up for a good session.
Do you have two, three, or a whole pack of dogs? We can cater to all their needs with our shared time packages. In order to be able to offer your dog our special level of care and personal attention we only walk two dogs at a time, but we are happy to work with larger families to ensure that everyone gets what they need during the day.
We understand that it's a big scary world out there for some dogs. We have years of experience dealing with shy, anxious, fearful and reactive dogs and are happy to work with you to manage or even adjust your dog's behavior. We offer specialized puppy care which requires a weekly commitment of on-going walks and special pricing is based on a minimum of 2 visits per day, see Puppy Visits pricing below.
We understand that many of our clients may have dynamic scheduling needs that change week to week or may just need us occasionally throughout the month. Please see As Needed Clients pricing below.
All daily dog walking visits are 10am-4:30pm Monday through Friday. All visits outside these hours are subject to outside hours fees. Prices include one dog, additional dogs $3.00.
A late booking fee of $3.00 applies to all daily dog walking visits requested after 6:00pm day prior to service. Hire us as your dog walker in Chicago and Evanston!

Puppy Visits
We love puppies, but they sure do need to pee a lot! Our service will help to speed up your pup's house-training, while offering opportunities for all-important socialization and leash manners. We offer two, three, or more daily visits for puppies under 6 months old at a discounted rate, and are happy to work with your schedule. This service is for clients that have a consistent recurring schedule at least three days per week, for visits less than three days per week, regular dog walking rates apply.
Puppy visits are Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm, visits outside of these days and times are subject to outside hours fees.

Walkers and sitters that are able to provide this service are in high demand and have a special skill set. This extra work and responsibility should be reflected in the price of care.
In most cases a single handler is able to administer these services, but sometimes two handlers are required to safely provide medication. This need for a second handler is mainly to minimize stress on your pet as well as keep our staff safe.
We strongly suggest if you have a medicated animal that we schedule your client meeting at a time when medication is being administered. During this meeting you can talk through the routine with your sitter and they can handle and administer the medication to them. This will give us a good idea if a second handler would be needed.
Wedgewood pharmacy (online) is able to compound most medications into treat or liquid form. If your pet finds medication time stressful it may be a good idea to talk to your vet to see if the medication you are giving can be compounded.

Blood glucose testing cats - $2.00 blood glucose test for cats prior to insulin shot
We do not provide this service for dogs as getting blood droplet for dogs is very difficult and always requires two handlers, it is taken from a different area than on cats that does bleed as readily. If you need this service for a dog, we recommend you enlist the services of a certified veterinary technician.
Insulin shot - $5.00 per shot
Sub-q fluids - $15.00 and minimum 30-minute visit. In some cases, two handlers are required to provide this service.
Pilling $5.00 If physical pilling is required. If pill is given with food/in food there is no charge. In multiple pet households we would need to be able to sequester the animal if we are leaving the visit with the pill in food. In some cases, two handlers are required to physical pill an animal. If you have a special routine where medication has to be given within a certain time frame before or after feeding please contact us as additional rates may apply to compensate the sitter for time spent.

Pet Sitting (Dog Sitting, Cat Sitting, Rabbit Care, Small caged animals)
We understand that certain pets may not require overnight sitting and that some clients may prefer not to have someone staying in their home. For these clients we offer pet sitting in lieu of overnight care. Instead of spending the night, our sitters will visit your pet/s at set times to deliver their care routine.
We offer in home pet sitting for dogs, cats, pocket pets and fish. We have package deals that offer you a variety of options in terms of the number of visits your pet receives every day, including a create-your-own-care package option.
We service dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, chinchillas, iguanas, bearded dragons, salamanders, frogs, toads, red-eared sliders and box turtles.

Cat Sitting
Pricing includes up to two cats, additional cats $2.00. Due to insurance and liability reasons we are unable to do cat sitting care on nonconsecutive days. Overnight Care
Overnight Care
We firmly believe that while you're away your dog or cat is most comfortable in the safety and warmth of their own home. We offer an unparalleled level of overnight care with our sitter arriving by 7pm and staying until 7-9am the following day. You can add on a midday visit or two during the day as well for an additional fee. Our sitter dedicates their full attention to your pet/s while they're in your home. Your companion/s will receive all the love, attention and exercise that they need. The time they spend with their sitter can be customized and structured by you. You will receive a detailed written account of each visit sent to you via email.
Our Overnight Care service includes: all bathroom needs attended to between 7pm and 7am, sleeping arrangements at your specification, feedings on the schedule you request, morning and evening walks, and play and cuddle sessions. We will also take in all mail and packages.
Working on training? Teaching your dog not to jump on furniture, counter-surf or get in the garbage? Just let us know and we'll be happy to continue the training while you're away.

Day Sitting
We offer day sitting services for clients that do not want to leave their dogs alone for longer periods between come and go visits. Instead of booking a normal 2 hour time window for us to arrive in, day sitting involves the sitter staying with your pet for a specified amount of time with a specific start time and end time (kind of like booking a babysitter). Our day sitting services are a minimum of 4 hours booked at $35 dollars an hour. Holiday surcharges apply to day sitting visits. Day Sitting is specialized care and availability is limited.Holidays

We want to be respectful of our sitters time and dedication during holiday periods. We can only take on a certain amount of care and maintain an emergency contingency plan.
We always have an emergency contingency plan that will not leave our clients high and dry should the sitter assigned to your care be unable to perform due to emergency or illness. We make sure that, in addition to scheduled care, we have staff in place for emergencies such as; the epic snow and freezing we have had over these last few lovely winters, travel delays, sitter injury or illness, etc.
We regularly have to turn people away during these times of year because we take our emergency contingency plan very seriously. Our highest priority is the responsibility we take on when you become our client balanced with consideration and safety of our staff.

PREMIUM HOLIDAYS These periods typically become fully booked between October and early November. Cancellations requested after 14 days will be billed in full including the associated holiday fee.
